Event Description:
Davis & Elkins College Morrison-Novakovic Center for Faith and Public Policy will present a Health and Justice Symposium at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24 in The Joni and Buck Smith Arts Forum in Myles Center for the Arts. Discussion will include the basic structural injustices that result from a for-profit health care system. A question-and-answer session will follow. Panelist who will approach the subject of health resource allocation from his or her disciplinary specialty are: Chair of the D&E Division of Business and Entrepreneurship and Professor of Business Dr. Carol Carter, D&E Assistant Professor of Political Science Dr. Eric Castater, D&E Professor of Economics Dr. Nadeem Khan, D&E Professor of Nursing Dr. Denice Reese, Davis Medical Center Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer Pam Smithson and Jivaka Wellness Center owner Kyle Weaner.
