A Southern Gospel Brunch with the theme “Creating a Culture of Peace” will take place at 1 p.m. Sunday, September 23 in The Joni and Buck Smith Arts Forum in Myles Center for the Arts on the campus of Davis & Elkins College. The menu includes creole shrimp and grits, fried chicken and waffles, omelets, catfish nuggets, collard greens, cornbread muffins and sweet potato pie tarts, along with orange juice, coffee, sweet tea and water. The cost is $20 per person and reservations are required by calling event organizer Adjunct Instructor Laurie Goux at 304-801-4476 by September 18. A free program will follow from 2:15-3:15 p.m. in Harper-McNeeley Auditorium featuring live entertainment with vocalist Maggie Brown, motivational speaker and vocalist Lee Fuller, music, dance and special speakers.
